Es verfügt über modernste Laboratorien und experimentelle Tierhaltungen auch für Großtiere in den Schutzstufen 2-4 sowie über Insektarien im BSL-2- und BSL-3-Bereich.Am Hauptstandort Insel Riems ist zum nächstmöglichsten Zeitpunkt der Dienstpostender stellvertretenden Institutsleiterin / des stellvertretenden Institutsleiters (m/w/d) im Institut für Infektionsmedizin zu besetzen. Alternativ kann die Einstellung als Tarifbeschäftigte/Tarifbeschäftigter mit außertariflichem Entgelt in Höhe der Dienstbezüge nach Besoldungsgruppe B1 BBesO) erfolgen.Aufgaben:Das Institut für Infektionsmedizin (IMED) betreibt Diagnostik und Forschung zu infektionsbedingten Krankheiten auf den Themenfeldern „Vektoren“ und „Nicht-klassische, landwirtschaftliche Nutztiere“. Einen Schwerpunkt bilden aktuell entsprechende Arbeiten bei Arthropoden als Vektoren im Bereich des Monitorings, der Vektorkompetenz, der Pathogenese, der Virus-Vektor-Wirt-Interaktionen und der Risikobewertung. Die Nutzinsekten sollen zukünftig in diese Fragestellungen einbezogen werden.Die Diagnostik und Forschung zu infektionsbedingten Krankheiten in der Aquakultur bilden einen zweiten Schwerpunkt. Dem Institut sind die Nationalen Referenzlabore für Bienenkrankheiten sowie für verschiedene Fisch-, Muschel- und Krebstierseuchen zugeordnet.Der zukünftig besondere Fokus auf potentielle Vektoren wird sich auch in der erwarteten Leitungstätigkeit im IMED widerspiegeln. Die aktive Förderung der kollegialen Zusammenarbeit mit den anderen Fachinstituten des Friedrich-Loeffler-Instituts (FLI) sowie die Mitarbeit in nationalen und internationalen Gremien ist ebenfalls eine wichtige Aufgabe.Anforderungen:Wir suchen eine hochqualifizierte Wissenschaftlerin/ einen hochqualifizierten Wissenschaftler, insbesondere im Bereich der Veterinärmedizin, Biowissenschaften oder verwandter Wissenschaften. Die erfolgreiche Kandidatin/ der erfolgreiche Kandidat sollte langjährige Erfahrungen auf dem Gebiet der Infektionsforschung in Arthropoden als Vektoren oder Nutzinsekten aufweisen.
