Immersive media formats such as light-fields or volumetric video give users new possibilities to experience content and participate in virtual events in a more involved and intuitive way. Depending on the captured data, a user can then even walk around the scene with six degrees of freedom (6DoF). To that end, however, the usage and placement of capture devices in the scene are critical and the processing and rendering are crucial for achieving the highest possible quality and immersion.
