An extension is sought. With around 350 employees, the SLUB is one of the largest and most efficient academic libraries in Germany. It is an important innovation and coordination center in the German library system and a lively social place of scientific exchange. The Free State of Saxony supports the digitization of holdings from academic and public libraries as well as significant written and cultural assets from other cultural and scientific institutions with additional budget funds. The aim is to provide the widest possible online access to information and objects from the cultural and scientific heritage of the Free State for the purposes of teaching and research as well as for the general public. The State Digitization Programme (LDP) for Science and Culture is coordinated by the SLUB and includes the digitization of valuable written and cultural heritage in Saxony.
